Funeral for Doris Irene Guild Clark, 98, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Clotfelter officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mrs. Clark died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at her home. She was born Nov. 6, 1903, in Abbingdon, Ill. She earned a bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan Univetsity in 1924. She married the late Rev. Dr. Eugene Hobson Clark on Oct 9, 1926, and moved to Alabama to serve beside him in the Methodist ministry. She held offices in many organizations, including the United Methodist Women Conference and the Decatur Altrusa Club. She also held positions in local churches, and she served on a volunteer mission team to Brazil when she was 82. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Goodfellowship Class.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene Cliff Clark of Albany, Ga, and Stanley Prentiss Clark of Decatur; two daughters, Doris Lucille Clark Wilhite of Camden, SC and Sarah Katherine Clark Hollingsworth of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wilhite, David Wilhite, Bob Clark, Marty Clark, Kent Hollingsworth and Jason Fortenberry.
