Obituary
LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Mrs. Luther G. Cox, age 81, who passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro at a later date. The Rev. Nick Peters, pastor of First Baptist Church of Carencro, will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Cox was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette.

Survivors include two sons, Bradley James Cox of Lafayette and Carl Dean Cox of Katy, TX; one daughter, Paula Kay "Missie" Cox of Lafayette; her beloved friend, Nola Braud of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Carl Cox, Jr., Heather Benoit, Cody Benoit, Lauren Leger, Cliff Cox, Tara Ness, Blaine Cox, Kyle Cox and Courtney Martinez; and four great grandchildren, Slade Leger, Hailey Ness, Ethan Ness and Avah Cox.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delma Clifton Cox; her parents, William Guidry and the former Eunice Stoute, both natives of Lafayette; two daughters, Sharon Cox and Pamela Cox; her long-time companion, Spencer Wayne "Turp" Turpin; one brother, Jimmy Guidry; and three sisters, Dot Winston, Doris High and Billie Joyce Aucoin.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Avenue Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
