Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at an 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Patsy Ruth Guidry Begnaud, age 83, the former Patsy Guidry, who passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Johnathan Janise, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Ms. Begnaud was a native and lifelong resident of Vatican. She was owner/operator of Roy Begnaud's Grocery Store for over 50 years. Ms. Begnaud was a parishioner of St. John Berchman Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Peter Bonne Mort Society, Catholic Daughter's and VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Ridge.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Forman and her husband Elmo, of Scott, Sarah B. Girouard and her husband, Harvey, of Ossen, Anna Louise Begnaud and her companion, Douglas Garb, of Vatican and Kay Begnaud of Scott; eight grandchildren, Zane Forman and Daimon Forman, both of Scott, Donnie York and his wife, Felica, of Cankton, Jason Girouard and his wife, Loretta, Rachael Noel and her husband, Scott, Gwen Rivette and her husband, Bryant, all of Ossen, Ashley Begnaud and Amber Begnaud, both of Scott; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Roy J. Begnaud, her parents; her parents, Easton Guidry and the former Philoman Bacque; two brothers, Lyman Guidry and Ovide Guidry and one sister, Drusilla Olivier.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
The pallbearers will be Zane Forman, Jason Girouard, Daimon Forman, Donnie York, Scott Noel and Bryant Rivette. The honorary pallbearers will be Gerald "Butch" Begnaud, Glen Guidry and Mickey Guidry.
