Opelousas – A rosary service will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service for Lula "Bea" V. Guedry, age 97, on Saturday, January 23, 2010 in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the services.

Mrs. Guedry, who was a resident of Opelousas, died on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Oschner Medical Center of Baton Rouge at 5:40 p.m.

Lula loved reading and playing Solitaire. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the Ladies' Altar Society. Lula will be missed dearly by all who loved her.

She is survived by her son, John F. Guedry and wife, Elizabeth (Liz), of Baton Rouge, La. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Libby Gonzales and husband, Hale, of Baton Rouge, La.; Penny Reid of Baton Rouge, La. and 4 great-grandchildren, Grant Gonzales, Morgan Gonzales, Kayla Reid and Maggie Reid all of Baton Rouge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Joseph Guedry; her parents, Onezine & Avia Veillon; 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
