Rufus W. Grube, 75, stonemason of 1404 E. Newport Road, Rothsville, died Tuesday
morning at Ephrata Community Hospital after an illness of two weeks. Grube was a
stonemason with the former Grant Smith Construction Co. of Lancaster retiring in
1982. He previously was a farmer.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church of Rothsville where he was a
former member of the cemetery board and the church council. He also was a member
of the Lancaster county Wood Carver's Association and the Rabbit Hiller's Senior
Citizens Group of Rothsville. He was an avid hunter.
Born in Warewick Twp. He was the son of the late Edward and Mary Weidler Grube.
He was the husband of Marcella Stauffer Grube. He and his wife celebrated their
55th anniversary Sept. 4th.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Claude M. of Rothsville and Mahlon H.
of Las Vegas; two daughters, Rufina, wife of James W. Eckman of Newmanstown and
Marilyn Muscari of Manheim; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two
brothers, George of Blair, Neb. and Weidler of Manheim.
