BURLINGTON - Doris Helen (Gover) Gelinas, 58, passed away on Feb. 20, 2009, in Fletcher Allen Health Care.
She was born in Boston, Mass. on Nov. 22, 1950, daughter of the late Andrew and Constance (Lyman) Gover of Hinesburg.
She married Pierre "Peter" Gelinas on July 18, 1970, in St. Anthony's Church in Burlington.
She had been employed with the Department of Homeland Security with the U.S. Government for many years. Doris enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, ceramics with her friends on Wednesday evenings, puzzles, bird watching, working in her flower gardens and curling up to a good book. She especially looked forward to the many special times she spent with her grandchildren and being a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Doris will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Pierre "Peter" Gelinas of Burlington; her son Andrew Gelinas and wife Glyn of Burlington; her daughter Michele Bushey and husband Shannon of Essex Junction; her sister Madine Churchill and husband Rodney of Hinesburg; her five beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Nicole and Emma Gelinas, Natasha Teston and Mercedes Bushey; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece Crystal Churchill of Hinesburg; several aunts and uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, from 2 to 5 p.m., in A. W. Rich Funeral Home - Essex Chapel.
There will be no public funeral services. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
