Mrs. Elizabeth Hoggan, 72, of Salmon, died in an area hospital 26 April 1962 from a cerebral hemorrhage she suffered in July 1961. She was born 16 Mar 1890 at Farmington, Utah, the daughter of Enoc and Amber Call Grover. She came to Rigby with her parents who homesteaded there in 1891. She received her elementary education at Rigby and was married to Wilford W. Hoggan in May of 1909 in the Logan LDS Temple. After their marriage, they moved to Arco where they lived for 10 years. They then moved to Salmon where she has resided for the past 35 years. She was president of the YWMIA in the Arco LDS Ward; president of the Salmon 1st Ward Relief Society; stake president of the Relief Society; a Sunday School teacher. While in Arco and Salmon she was a practical nurse assisting in the delivery of many babies in the area. Mr. Hoggan died 10 September 1951. For the past several years she has been employed at the National Laundry at Salmon. She is survived by one son, Wilford G. Hoggan in Civil Service in the US Army in Korea; a step daughter, Mrs. Beth Larsen of Salmon; three grandchildren; brothers and sisters including, Mrs. Melvin Casper of Rexburg, Ursel Grover who is serving an LDS mission in Northern California; Mrs. Merrill McQuivey of Boise; Clarence Grover and Mrs. Cecil Scott both of Idaho Falls; Lowell Grover of Brigham City, Utah; Milton C. Grover of Malad, Idaho; Mrs. Ernest Dutson of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs Guy Bledsoe of Walnut Creek, California. Funeral services were conducted 29 April 1962 at the Salmon LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Gar Hodges officiating. Interment was in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
