Mrs. Grossman was the daughter of John SCHNEIDER and Nellie BERRY. She married Charles H. KUHL on Christmas Day 1935, while still a student at Lincoln High School, in Bremen, Indiana. She continued with high school and graduated with the Lincoln High School Class of 1937. Her son was stillborn on August 20, 1937; his birth was premature. Esther and Charles' daughter (Charlene) was born in October 1940. Esther and Charles divorced before December 1942. On June 19, 1945, Esther married Raymond Frederick GROSSMAN, who raised Esther's daughter as his own. Two daughters were born to Esther and Raymond. Esther was a beautician and hair dresser. She and her husband were killed in an automobile accident, when the driver of a truck crossed a double yellow line. Double funeral services were conducted for Esther and her husband at Grace United Methodist Church, Bremen, with the Rev. David Barnett officiating. Burial was at Bremen Cemetery.

She was survived by three daughters --- Mrs. Kenneth (Charlene) Muncy, Bremen; Mrs. Phillip (Sandra) Johnson, Chesterton; and Mrs. Steven (Linda) Richmond, Nappanee -- and by three sisters -- Mrs. Mabel Wilson, Bremen; Mrs. Ernest (Lulu) Stump, Bremen; and Mrs. Orville (Madge) Heminger, South Bend -- and by one brother, Charles Schneider, Walkerton.
