Daniel G. Grossman, age 86, passed away on January 5, 2009 after a short illness. Born in Utica, New York, he served in Italy in the infantry during World War II for 3 .5 years. Mr. Grossman graduated from Syracuse University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. He was a former board member of Temple Concord and a past president of Menorah Park. Mr. Grossman was a member of Lafayette Country Club, Drumlins Golf Club and Cavalry Club. Mr. Grossman was a manufacturer's representative traveling the state of New York for over 50 years, retiring in 2000. Surviving are his wife of over 60 years, Barbara Grossman; his children, Dr. Steven D. Grossman (the late Bonnie Wilkoff Grossman), Gary A. Grossman (wife Dr. Bonnie D. Grossman); grandchildren, Joshua M., Jeffrey W., Abby, and Jenna; and his brother-in-law, Charles Goldsmith (wife Sheila Goldsmith) Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Temple Concord. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Temple Concord, 910 Madison Street, Syracuse. Burial will be in the Temple Concord section of Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his honor to Menorah Park, Temple Concord, or the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra.
