Statesboro - Mrs. Roxie K. Groover, 84, died Wednesday at Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The Bulloch County native had lived near Statesboro most of her life and was a member of the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A. R. Clark Jr. of Portal, Mrs. Linwood Burke of Sylvania and Mrs. John Wendell Newton of Statesboro; two sons, Fred Elmer Groover of Atlanta and James Edward Groover of Savannah; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Middleground Primitive Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro is in charge.
