Bonnie J. Grissom, 81, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016, at her home. Bonnie was born on March 21, 1934, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Briles) Howard.
Bonnie worked for 13 years at the St. John’s Hospital in Anderson in the delivery room assisting doctors deliver many babies over her years there. During her time living in Florida, she was a family literacy volunteer for many years. More recently she was actively involved in the Greensburg Senior Citizen Center helping to organize Euchre games and tournaments as well as singing with the Song Birds.
She is survived by her four daughters – Connie Walters, Timmi (Tim) Hickman, Judy (Steven) Arnold, and Laura Grissom; nine grandchildren – Shannon Post, Cherlynn Hecker, Andrea Countryman, Jameson Walters, Sarah Foltz, Isaiah Hickman, Nedra Phipps, Antony Bragg and Magnolia Swann; 16 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step mother Alice Howard and her brother James Howard.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, from 4PM until the start of the Funeral Service 5PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 11AM on Wednesday, February 3 at the Anderson Memorial Park in Anderson, Indiana.
