Mrs. Adlai G. Dalby, the wife of Ralph Dalby, died early Wednesday at her home north of the city at Ind. 28 and Granville Pike. She began her teaching career in the Muncie schools in 1919, serving most recently as librarian at Central High School, prior to her retirement this year.
Mrs. Dalby, who attended DePauw University and Indiana University, was graduated from Indiana with the class of 1916. She was awarded a library degree from Columbia University. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the State Library Association.
She was born in Harrodsburg, the daughter of Albert and Alice (Mosier) Grissom.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a cousin, V.G. Mosier, Muncie; an uncle, William Mosier, Muncie; and two other cousins, Roy Evans, Mayfield, Ky., and Frank Evans of Florida.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Meeks Mortuary at 11 a.m. Friday with Dr. Lewis Gishler officiating. Interment will be in Black Cemetery.
