Amanda C. Gresham, was born in Todd county, Ky., February 3, 1847. She was married to Wm. Tatum in 1866, and to this union was born one son, Wm. Tatum. She moved to Kansas, 1872, and was married to Robert Gratton, the same year; to this union there were born three children of which all are living. She was married to Hiram Austin, in 1890. The three husbands are dead.
Mrs. Amanda C. Austin died January 10, 1909. She was one of a family of ten children, six boys and four girls, of which seven are living. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and was always found at her post of duty, consistent in all her church work. The church has lost a faithful member, and the children a devoted, loving mother. Robert and Roberter have always lived with their mother, and the sympathy of the town goes out to them in this sad hour of bereavement. "He doeth all things Well." (transcribed by Judy Mayfield)
