Mrs. Willie L. (Bill) Chilton, 59, life-long resident of Braggadocio, died Tuesday, October 15, at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital and funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Braggadocio Baptist church. The Rev. W.B. Gossett officiated and burial was in Maple cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral home service.
Mrs. Chilton was born at Braggadocio on March 23, 1904 and was the daughter of the late James and Mary Ellen Grinstead. She attended the schools there, having been graduated from the high school in the class of 1922.
In June of 1922, in Caruthersville, she was married to Paul Chilton. She was an active member of the Baptist church at Braggadocio, where she taught a young married couples class of Sunday school, was recorded secretary for the church and sang in the choir.
Survivors included her husband; two brothers, Frank Grinstead of Braggadocio and James W. Grinstead of Tucson, Ariz.; and three sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Long of Green Bay, Wisc, Mrs. Violet E. Gramling and Miss Nola M. Grinstead of Merigold, Miss.
