Rose Marie Erna Barnett, 33, of Monticello was found June 21, 2002, in the Mississippi River near Lake Village. Born July 16, 1968, in Dermott to Thomas Griffin of Monticello and the late Ann Christine Carpenter Huff Griffin, she was a lab tech and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Huff, and two brothers, Rickey Earl and Jerry Huff.
Survivors include her daughter, Brittany Nicole Barnett of Monticello; her father; five brothers, Michael Huff of North Little Rock, William Huff of Charlotte, Michigan, Thomas Eric Huff and Elvis Griffin of Monticello and Kenneth Eugene Huff of Maumelle; three sisters, Lisa Haynes of Little Rock, Carren Griffin of Monticello, and her twin sister, Rose Mary Wilson of Watson; a very close friend, Donnie Carter; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, in the Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home chapel in Monticello with Rev. Larry Donaldson officiating. Pallbearers were Jackie Etheridge, John Ritcher, Lavan Lawson, John Carpenter, Jr., Alfred Pruitt and Charles Griffin. Burial followed services at the Old Union Cemetery in Ashley County.
