Dorothy Griffin, 91, of Ottumwa, formerly of Burlington, died at 8:35 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa.
Born Nov. 10, 1926, in Munterville, she was the daughter of Emmett and Minnie Sandeen Anderson. She married John William Joseph "Joe" Griffin on June 29, 1945. He died June 1, 2000.
Mrs. Griffin worked at Winblade Grocery, Harrington Plumbing & Heating and Ottumwa Janitorial Service. She sold Avon for 35 years and was a member of their Presidents Club.
She was a graduate of Blakesburg High School and was a member of First Congregational Church and then First Lutheran Church in Ottumwa.
She enjoyed animals, horses, gardening and flowers, especially irises.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
