    Paul was born to Paul & Leila Grierson in Newport News, VA on September 15, 1912. He graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood NJ in 1929, and received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA in 1934. Employed by Gibbs & Cox Inc. in New York City for 43 years, where he was engaged in the electrical design of U.S. Navy destroyers, tank landing craft, personnel carriers, destroyer escorts, aircraft carriers, Liberty and Victory ships, commercial cargo ships, cruise ships and the transatlantic passenger ships SS America and SS United States.
    Resident of DeKalb IL since 1992. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb where he served on committees for expansion on the sanctuary and installation of the sound reinforcement system. Prior to DeKalb, resident of Chatham NJ for over 50 years, where he was very active in the Ogden Memorial Presbyterian Church, serving as elder and assisted in installation, operation and maintenance of the sanctuary sound reinforcement system. Community activities in Chatham included acting in many productions of the Chatham Community Players and serving nine elective years on the Chatham Board of Education. Prior to Chatham NJ residences were (beginning with earliest) Maplewood NJ, East Orange, NJ, and Ridgewood NJ.
    Paul is survived by his wife Dorothy ("Dotsie"), daughter Barbara Mueller of Highland Park, IL (widow of William), daughter Priscilla ("Lolly") Voss of Hinckley IL (widow of John), son and daughter-in-law Robert and Linda Grierson of Evanston, IL four grandsons and their wives and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his son David, and his sisters Mary Grierson of Middlebury VT and Margaret Cole of Bristol VT.
    A memorial service is being planned for the near future at Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Building Fund in DeKalb will be very appreciated by the family. Paul's body has been donated to Northern Illinois University for medical education.
