Samar Griego died Wednesday, November 14, 2001 at the age of 13.
Samar was a student at Truman Middle School.
She is survived by her mother, Joan Griego; father, Thomas Garduno; brother, Vincent Griego and fiancee, Racheal Elrod; sister, Jessica Griego; niece, Alexia Griego; grandmother, Juanita Cano and husband, Ramon; grandfather, Paul Griego; aunts, Eleanor Griego and Gloria Gonzales; uncles, David Griego and Joe Griego; and numerous cousins.
Funeral Services for Samar will be held on Monday at St. Edwin Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Griego, David Griego, Harold Tafoya, Larry Apodaco, Ruben Melina and Roy Nieto.
Cousin of Juliean and Valerie Nieto.
Died in a one-car accident near Central Ave on the far East Side of Albuquerque. The driver was seriously injured. Two other passengers were not hospitalized.
She was a passenger in a stolen pickup driven by an unlicensed 14-year old boy. The truck overturned while being driven through a sandy arroyo.
