Retired carpenter
Celestino Griego Sr. of Albuquerque has gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ May 4, 2010. He was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Dixon, N.M., the son of Bernabe and Elena Griego.

Celestino was a retired carpenter and worked for the disabled American Veteran. Celestino was a very loving person; he especially treasured his grandchildren and great grandkids. He enjoyed making family and friends laugh.

Celestino is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 61 years Margaret Alire Griego, a son Johnnie Lee Griego, a sister Alice Griego and two brothers Juan and Manuel Griego.

Celestino is survived by his daughter Helen Quintana of Albuquerque, two sons Celestino Griego Jr. and wife Carmen of Albuquerque, Danny Griego and wife Evelyn of Raton, two brothers Ernesto Griego and wife Lugarda of Dixon, Samuel Griego of Velvarde and a sister Lorraine Chavez of Albuquerque.

He is also survived by his loving grandkids Mark Griego, Denise Harris, Johnnie Lee Griego, Derek Griego, Andrew Griego, Ruby Ann Griego all of Albuquerque, Danny Griego Jr. of Denver and Gregg Griego of Raton, great grandkids David, Miranda, Nico, Anthony, Brenden, Makayla, Johnnie Lee the III and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation for Celestino Griego was held Thursday at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at the Apostolic Temple in Dixon with the celebrant Pastor Salomon Sanchez Jr. officiating.

Rite of committal and interment will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Dixon Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements for Celestino Griego, Sr. are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
