Beverly Ann Grey, 61, a native of Bethany, Okla., and a resident of Daphne for over 30 years, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Phoenix.
She received her B.S. in education in 1970 from Kansas State University and her Masters in counseling from the University of South Alabama. She worked as a grade school teacher at Glory Christian Academy, as a counselor at Crossway Counseling in Daphne and was a founding member of Old Spanish Fort Christian School and Glory Christian Academy.
Her favorite verse was, "This is the Day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it", and her life is best described by these words, "she loved God and she loved people." She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and generously gave of herself to her loved ones, friends and strangers. She was gifted at playing the piano and singing and loved traveling to see her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Dorothy Johnston.
Survivors include her husband of almost 40 years, Thomas G. Grey Jr. of Daphne; three daughters, Angie (Joe) Szymanski of Sewell, N.J.; Jenni (Jonathan) Spuler of Ocoee, Fla., and Cindy Grey of Daphne; eight grandchildren, Jonah, Owen, Noel, Colin, Ethan, Emma, Elijah, and Gage; three sisters, Susie (Jerry) Wilson, Fairview, Texas; Bobbie (Mark) Allen, Canyon, Texas, and Dottie (Mike) Fraser, Amarillo, Texas; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 21 at Bay Community Church in Historic Malbis. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22 at the church. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
