Funeral services for Mrs. Ivalene Beacham of Wrightsville will be held on Saturday, December 29, at 1:00 PM at the Community Missionary Baptist Church at 627 James Grove Church Road in Wrightsville. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery in Wrightsville.
Mrs. Beacham who passed on December 22, 2012, was born as the fifth of eleven children on September 5, 1917, in Johnson County to the late Walter and Lula Moorman Gregory. She was united in holy matrimony in 1931 to the late Mr. Arthur "Buck" Beacham and to this union two children were born. Mrs. Beacham joined the Saint James C.M.E. Church at age eleven and remained an active member for 85 years until her death. She also served as church musician for 55 years. She served as president of both the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Board for many years. She was a retired Johnson County School System educator of 41 years during which time she taught in grades one through five, touching the life of virtually every student in Johnson County.
Mrs. Beacham was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers, Nannie Lou, Mary, Annie Lee, Leonie, Ada Mae, Willis, Eddie Will and Elmo; and one grandchild, Jarrell Wright.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Mrs. Beacham's memory at the Community Bank of Johnson County, 2498 W Elm St, Wrightsville, Georgia.
