Anna Johnson Carlson, 78, R. 4 died early this morning at Osteopathic hospital following a long illness.
Mrs. Carlson was born August1, 1877, in Jakobstad, Finland, and came to the United States in 1895, settling in Chisholm, Minn. She came to this area in 1920 and has since made her home here.
In Finland she married Matt L. Strong, who died in 1914. In 1938 she married Leander Carlson. She was a life member of the Bethlehem Lutheran church and of the ladies Aid Society.
Surviving, besides her husband are two sons, Bernard T. Strong of R. 4 and Hugo L. Strong of Williamsburg, R. 2; a daughter, Mrs. Julian Gloomis of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Johnson of Portland, Oregon and Miss Lena Gregg of Finland; a brother Alfred Gregg, of Finland; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins. A daughter and three brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Martinson funeral home with Rev. J. Edward Nelson officiating. Burial will be made in Oakwood cemetery.
