Mary Ann Greeno Carty was born in Dallas Texas. Her mother's family had been in Texas for many generations. She and her mother moved to Los Angeles when she was 12 and stayed until after she graduated from UCLA. She joined the Red Cross and was sent to Honolulu. After several years she was sent to Japan where she met her husband Fugate Carty MD. They returned to live and raise their family of six children in Honolulu. Mary Ann loved to dance and act and played bit parts in many well known television shows. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 1996 and passed away in Washington State where she was close to her children.
