Mrs. Ida P. Baker, age 98, of Gary, Ind., formerly of Forrest City, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Methodist Hospital NorthlakeMrs. Baker was born June 23, 1903, in Widener, and was the daughter of the late Tom and Armette Greenlee. She retired after serving 48 years as a principal in the St. Francis County School systems and was a member of the CME Church where she was on the missionary board.Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Pennington and Emmitt Baker; a son; two sisters; two brothers and two granddaughters.She is survived by six sons, Terry Pennington of Gary, Ind., Percy Pennington of Chicago, Ill., Emmett Baker of St. Louis, Mo., Albert Baker of Richmond, Calif., A.D. Baker of New York, N.Y. and Emery Baker of Aurora, Ill.; two daughters, Susie Clay and Estelle Jackson, both of Memphis; a sister, Armetta Davis of Gary, Ind.; 28 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.Visitation for Mrs. Baker will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, from 12 to 8 p.m., with family hour from 7 to 8 p.m., at Guy and Allen Funeral Chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Baker will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at 2 p.m., at the Israel CME Church, with Rev. Dr. Nicholas Betts officiating the service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Guy and Allen Funeral Directors, Inc.
