Earl H. (Johnny)Greenland, 54, of Calvin R.D.,died at 5 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 1977 at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon,where he had been a patient for two weeks.Born May 29, 1923 at Jacobs, he was a son of Samuel H. and Mary (Stapleton) Greenland.On February 27, 1953, he married the former Jane Taylor.Surviving are his widow and four children, Mrs. Walter
(Beverly) Roland and Mrs.Roy (Barbara) Roland, both of Calvin; William, Orbisonia and Kimberly Louanne, at home. Two children preceded in death. There is one granddaughter.Also surviving are eight sisters..Mrs. Nora Trout, Mrs. Pearl Houck, Mrs. Freda
Forshcy and Mrs. Edwinna Mansberger, all of Calvin; Mrs. Agnes Kyler and Mrs.Myrtle Kauffman, both of Mapleton, R.D.; Mrs. Edith
Barnett, Hesston and Mrs. Emma Witters,Cassville. Two brothers and one sister are deceased. Mr. Greenland was employed for 20 years by the Pennsylvania Glass Sand Corporation at Maplelon. He retired in 1974. During World War II, he served in the Central
European Theatre. He was a member of the Standing Stone VFW Post No. 1754, Huntingdon, and American Legion Post No. 322, Mapleton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10, from the Robert I. McClain funeral home,Cassville. The Rev.Henry A. Theys will officiate and burial will be in the Trough Creek Valley Baptist Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until time for services.
