Caleb Greenland was probably born in western Baltimore County, Maryland, before his family emigrated to Union TWP (later became Cass TWP) in Huntingdon County, PA.
The family story is that his father, Moses Greenland [1739-1803], who was apparently well-off in Maryland, was able to buy a large tract of land in Huntingdon County, shorttly after it became a new county in 1787.
The Greenlands had several inlaw families also move to the same area about the same time, including Deans, Posten's, Corbins, and Lovealls.
The Lovealls were serious Baptists, back when that was a fairly new thing to be. We assume that the Trough Creek Baptist Church was founded by these Baptists from Western Baltimore County, an area now in Carroll County, MD
Caleb's mother was Mary Loveall [1753-1788]
The Loveall name has subsequently been shortened to Lovell, but the original name Loveall has a history behind it.
