Donald R. Greenland, 71, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died
Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at his home.
Born May 8, 1928, in Clay Township, Huntingdon County, he was
the son of the late Moody E. and Mildred Rebecca (Miller)
Greenland. He married Lorenah M. Steese May 8, 1954. She
survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and
three sons: Peggy Ann Loring, Bamburg, Germany; Sharon Kay
Devlin, State College; Karen Joan Tice, Pine Grove Mills; Ray
Donald Greenland, Spring Mills; Charles Lynn Greenland, State
College; and Gerald Arthur Greenland, Pennsylvania Furnace.
There are 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Two sisters, Anna Mae Flasher of Spring City, and Betty
Peterson of Orbisonia, survive.
He retired as lead mason at Penn State University in 1989,
after 29 years of service. While working at
Penn State, he did general contracting, specializing in
masonry work for several years.
He collected model and full-size John Deere tractors and
displayed them at Penn State Ag Progress Days.
He was a member. of the Church of the Nazarene in State
College. He enjoyed hunting and cutting wood.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, at 11 a.m., at
the Church of the Nazarene, 3601 South Atherton St., State
College, with the Rev. Paul D. MacPherson officiating.
Interment will be made in the Graysville Cemetery in the
village of Graysville, Huntingdon County.
Friends may call at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton
St., State College, this evening, from 6 until 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the
Brookline Home Care & Hospice, Compassionate Care or Employee
Fund, 3901 South Atherton St., Boalsburg. Pa. 16827.
