Francis H. Greening -
Francis (Frank) H. Greening, 95, of 133 E. South Street in Painesville, died Sunday morning following a lingering illness at the Shore Acres Convalescent Home in St. Petersburg, Fla. Born Sept. 3, 1883, in England, Mr. Greening was a long time area resident.
Mr. Greening was a roofing contractor in the Painesville area untl his retirement. He was a member of the Painesvile United Methodist Church; a 50 year member of Temple Lodge No 28; F&AM; Painesville Chapter of No 46 RAM; Painesville Counsel No. 104, R and SM; Eagle Commandry No. 29, KT; a 50 year member of the Urania Chapter No. 284, OES; a 50 year member of Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland; a member of the Hi-Twelve Club of Painesville and the Lake Erie Consistry, Valley of Cleveland.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; two sons, Freeman G. Vrooman of Painesville and William P. Greening of Fla.; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, with Dr. Alva W. Taylor from Painesville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville. Masonic services are planned for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
