Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Elaine Greening Bird, returned to the presence of her Heavenly Father and husband, Ted L. Bird on June 6, 1998 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by family.
She was born May 26, 1933 in American Fork, Utah to William and Emma Binch Greening, the eighth of 11 children. She married Ted L. Bird August 21, 1950. Together they raised five children, all of whom reflect their mother and father's love. Elaine magnified her role as a mother; her example, kind words for her fellow man, and dedication to family, will remain in our hearts forever.
She enjoyed her family outings, whether in the desert, mountains, fishing at Moon Lake, golfing, bowling, trap shooting or at her home. Her family meant everything to her.
She is survived by her children, Ted R. (Pat) Bird, of Farmington; Marty W. (Diane) Bird; and Chuck (Lorraine) Bird; both of Las Vegas, Nevada; Ranae (Jack) Murphy, of Sandy; Teresa Ciao, of American Fork; 12 grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters: Ellis and Arlan Greening, both of Orem; Don and Dale Greening, both of American Fork; Marion Newman, of Pleasant Grove; Ila Kelson, of West Valley. Preceded in death by her husband, Ted, May 15, 1996; her parents; three brothers, and a sister.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 No., American Fork, where friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to service. Burial in American Fork Cemetery.
