Marjorie Isabelle (Greene) Eaton, 96 of Agawam, formerly of Needham, MA for over 60 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Heritage Hall in Agawam. She was born May 1, 1913 in Pittsfield, MA, a daughter to the late Samuel E. and Isabelle J. (Trotter) Greene. She attended Pittsfield Public Schools, graduated from Northfield Academy, and received her B.A. from Wellesley College (1935) and also her Masters (1938). She married Donald A. Eaton on Sept. 9, 1939. Marjorie worked at Wellesley College in the education department and later became a real estate agent and insurance broker in Needham for over 25 years. She was active in local civic organizations, The Needham Congregational Church, and The Daughters of the American Revolution. Her interests included shell collecting, sewing, gardening, and playing bridge. She loved being with her children and grandchildren at their homes or at the beach. She is survived by her son Roger Eaton (Donna) of Feeding Hills, daughter Marilyn Eaton deVeer (Roger) of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; grandchildren, Erik deVeer (Jessie); Greg deVeer (Kelsie); Karen Eaton McArdle (Andy); and Pamela Eaton Gerardo (Tony); and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and brother Earle D. Greene. A funeral service for Marjorie will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11 AM from Colonial-Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, with calling hours from 10-11 AM on Friday just prior to the funeral home service. Burial will be on Saturday, December 5th 11:00 AM in Needham Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's name to the Springfield Rescue Mission at www.hope4springfield.org
