Gladys L Anderson, 92, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon for the past 10 years, died at 11:45 a.m. Monday, July 15,2002, at the care center.
She was Born Feb. 28,1910, in Quincy, to Frederick and Clara Shultz Greene, She married Claude Peck. He preceded her in death in 1942. She later married Iren "Andy" E. Anderson on June 19,1948. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Surviving is a daughter, Nancy (Raleigh) Stegall of Gaiesburg; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 1 stepgreat-grandchiid; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother Harold Greene of Gaiesburg.
She was also preceded in death by six sisters.
She had lived in Abingdon most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was an office assistant for Dr. Gleave and Dr. Bowman and later was a sales clerk at the former Ben Franklin Store in Abingdon for 10 years.
She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church and the Jolly Grandmothers Club. She also volunteered for many years at the Care Center of Abingdon before srie was a resident.
Funeral sendees will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Abingdon Christian Church with the Rev. Raymond McLaren officiating. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m.Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon, Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church or the Care Center of Abingdon,
