Obituary

Marjorie Green Cunningham, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2014 in Ocala, FL. She was born on January 31, 1933 in Okahumpka, FL to Miles and Lizzie Green. She graduated from Leesburg High School then moved to Ocala and married Elmer Cunningham in 1951. Marjorie then worked in finance for Ocala Credit Bureau and Sears. She went on to run a home childcare business for a while and then to Highlands Baptist Church as their Financial Secretary for 19 years until her retirement in 2004. Marjorie was a member of Highlands Baptist Church where she served as Bible Study Leader, WMU Director, a member of the Choir, Treasurer, the Nursery Director, as well as being on various committees. Working with their Youth Group, she went on a mission trip to Mexico to spread the Good News and on a mission to West Virginia with her husband, as missions were her passion. She and a close group of friends, traveled to many areas of this country, as well as abroad. Marjorie and her husband were also members of the Forever Young Group at the First Baptist Church, which they traveled with also. She said she was very blessed that a girl from Okahumpka was able to see so much of the world. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Elmer, her children Debra Craggs (John), Diane Wager, David Cunningham (Suzanne), a sister, Joyce Hudspeth, grandchildren, Jessica, Erin, Jennifer, Dave and great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Justin, Cierra, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Brayden , Brennen, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S Pine Ave Ocala, FL 34480 followed by a celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, 11 am at Highlands Baptist Church 3530 SE Fort King St, Ocala, FL 34471 with burial to be private at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Mission Trips Fund at Highland Baptist Church.
