Ellen A. Brown, 92, St. Augustine, widow of Charlie L. Brown, died Monday, June 18, 2001. Born April 2, 1909, in Chester County, S.C. She was a member of Wards Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brown lived and worked in Hickory, N.C., as a secretary for Hickory Chair before moving to Miami. For the past 24 years, she has lived in St. Augustine with her niece, Margaret C. Tuttle and her husband, McElree Tuttle Jr. She was the great-aunt of Nancy King of St. Augustine, Elizabeth Mace of Palatka, Elaine Fant of Columbia, S.C., and Joseph Tuttle, St. Augustine. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews living in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Craig Funeral Home, with graveside services following at St. Augustine Memorial Park.

Aunt Ellen will be laid to rest beside her beloved niece, Lynne Tuttle. The Rev. Earl Ashe will conduct the services.

Memorials may be made to Wards Creek Baptist Church building fund, 6019-A SR 16, St. Augustine, 32092, or to Special Olympics St. Johns at 1960 U.S. 1 South, PMB 110, St. Augustine, 32086.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Campbell, Tony Campbell, Thomas Fant, Matthew King, Julius Mace, Joseph Tuttle and David Sweat.

Craig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge.
