He was born September 11, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to Bert Wayne Green and Carolyn Meek Nelson.
He is survived by his wife, Majetta Green; daughter, Michelle Green Smith and her husband Kurt Smith; his son, Jonathan Green; his mother, Carolyn Meek Nelson and her husband, Dell Nelson; his sister, Jody Green Wein and her husband, Dean Wein; his brother, Jim Green and his wife, Sheridan Green; step-sister, Cathy Nelson; step-sister, Beth Nelson Lefevre and her husband Pascal Lefevre; and numerous other family members.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bert Wayne Green.
He was employed by the Times Record for the last 14 years and was a member of Community Bible Church. He attended Brooks Institute of Photography and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. He also attended Southwest Baptist Seminary for a time in Oklahoma. He loved to cook and owned a barbeque business in Oklahoma for a number of years. He was a Boy Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow, founding president of the Arkansas/Oklahoma Bonsai Association, and loved to plan cross country trips. He was an adoring and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He and his wife, Majetta, support the local United Way Backpack Program and Compassion International.
The service will be held Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Community Bible Church, 9201 Dallas Street, Fort Smith, with an interment following at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith.
