Anchorage resident L.V. Green Jr., 61, died Nov. 29, 2005, at Alaska Regional Hospital. A service took place at Center of Hope, 300 S. Klevin St. The Rev. Randy Crenshaw officiated. Pallbearers included Edgar Green, Edward Green, Van Green, Larry Green, Robert Green and Sean "KC" Reid. Interment was at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.


Mr. Green was born Oct. 5, 1944, in Miami. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Mr. Green moved to Anchorage in 1965; before that, he lived in Odessa, Texas. He worked for ACS as a telephone lineman for 18 years and was a longtime employee of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers until retiring in 2000. Mr. Green was a member of God's Holy Temple Spiritual Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing and taking his family camping. His family wrote: "L.V.'s passion was his family and his children. He enjoyed spending time with his mother and he always felt it was his duty to take care of his mother. L.V. was loving, patient and was loved and respected by many. His family will miss him dearly, and our love for him will remain in our hearts forever."


He is survived by his mother, Lena Green; wife, Kim Green; sons, William "BJ" Reid, Sean "KC" Reid, L.V. Green III and Robert; daughters, Bianca and Jade Green; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edgar and Veronica, Edward, Van, Larry and Denise and Robert and Yvonne; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Ray, Cathy and Richard Brinker, Cynthia and Edward Sanabria, and Cycelia and Evgeny Gumennik; grandchildren, Maria, William, Teonnie, Taveon, Elijay and Sean Jr., Mario and Jalaya, and Javonny; stepsons, Jeremiah, Andrew, Dawlton, Isaiah and Ezekiel; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, L.V. Green Sr. Family and friends may leave memorial tributes at www.mem.com. Arrangements were by Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
