She and Chester lived in Ballard where he was employed by Pheasant and Wiggen Funeral Home. They had two children while in Ballard, Patricia G. Kelley and H. Michael Green. They had two other children, C. Conrad Green and Dennis E. Green, after moving to Kirkland. When they moved to Kirkland in 1936, Mr. and Mrs. Green became active participants in the community life of Kirkland. They were involved in many of the community activities. Mrs. Green was an active member in P.E.O., Women Republican Club, Orthopedic Guild, Eastern Star and participated in many of her husband's activities with Rotary, SPEBSQSA (barber shop quartets and choruses), and others. She was a devoted member of the Rose Hill Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Green loved her community and the United States. She promoted Kirkland as the best place to live right up to the week of her death and loved to talk of our nation's history and core values. Mr. and Mrs. Green served the Eastside through their business, establishing funeral homes in Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond and through their development and ownership with four other families of Sunset Hills Memorial Park. After Mr. Green died in 1965, Mrs. Green with her son, H. Michael Green operated the funeral home until it was sold to H. Michael Green in 1975. She was proud that a second generation continued to carry on the values and principles of service she and Chester had established.
