Doris Deon Green Draper passed away peacefully and quietly on June 30, 2009 at the age of 83 in the home of her son, David.
Doris was the daughter of Wilford and Elva Green of Fountain Green, Utah.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Howard Jay Draper, four brothers, one sister, one daughter, Marsha, one son-in-law, Rolf, and one granddaughter, Lavon.
She grew up in Fountain Green as the youngest of five children, learning to work hard on the farm.
Married Howard Jay Draper in 1944. She worked in the chicken packaging and a parachute packing plant while Jay served overseas. She also worked for Sierra lingerie. Doris was an active member of the Taylorsville Fifteenth Ward for over 40 years.
She always played a supportive role in her family's lives. She enjoyed handwork, gardening, canning and her position as door greeter in church. She loved her family deeply and will surely be missed by her family plus all who knew her.
She leaves behind three daughters, Nancy Bailey (Carl), Susan Andersen, and Joy Andersen (Rick); two sons, James Draper (Debbie) and David Draper (Dawn), thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, not to mention many dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Taylorsville Fifteenth Ward Chapel, 1457 West Atherton Drive, with a viewing at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), the night before from 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
