GREEN - Elder Cornelius Green departed this life on the 19th of January, 1892, at his residence in Mill Creek ward after an illness of many months. The cause of his protrached sickness was kidney disease.
Cornelius Green, son of Samuel Green and Hannah Nobel, was born February 10, 1826, at Brittea, Glostershire, England. Baptized February 6, 1852, at Ebbs Vale, Monmouthshire, England, by Elder Gad Davis and cinfirmed at the same time. He was ordained an Elder January 23, 1859.
Emigrated to Utah in the fall of 1855. He was ordained a Seventy, September 15, 1859. Received an appointment for a mission to Europe, May 21, 188, and returned in 1889, having performed and honorable mission. Elder Green was a man of unwavering integirty and devotion to his religion. He was strictly an honest man, sober in habits, industrious in buisness, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.
He died as he had lived, a staunch supporter of his faith and was highly esteemed by all who knew him, and passed away in full assurance of a glorious resurrection at the coming of Christ. He leaves a wife and two sons and five daughters to mourn his present loss.
