Melba Mae Astorquia

May 6, 1932 ~ August 22, 2015

Melba Mae Astorquia, 83, of Brewster, WA, passed away at her home on August 22, 2015. Her family surrounded her with love as she went to be with the Lord.

Melba was born May 6, 1932, in Leola, AR to Haywood and Viola Gray. She had eight siblings and was the last surviving member of her family. Her life revolved around raising her four children. Before retiring, Melba worked in restaurants and packing sheds. For many years thereafter, she was very involved volunteering at the local food bank. She made friends everywhere she went. Taking great pride in her home, she loved working in her flower beds, garden and yard. She would feed the birds and make sure they had plenty of water. Every stray cat or animal that came to her door was always fed and well taken care of.

Melba is survived by her three children, Bobby Joe (Susan) Benson of Sheridan, AK, Randy Benson of East Wenatchee, WA, and Simone (Rob) Little of Mead, WA; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and close friend, Billy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio Astorquia; and daughter, Tracy Albert.

Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brewster Cemetery. Arrangements by Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
