Carol Norma Thompson Gray, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and precious friend, reunited with her sweetheart on October 29, 2013. Her latest illness was fought with courage and dignity. She was surrounded by family celebrating her life and the love she shares with them.

Carol was born April 23, 1920 Orson Thompson and Lillian Greenwood.

She married her best friend, David Robert Gray, on June 3, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings.

She was a dedicated, loving mother and grandmother, caring for family, friends, and church members.

In her earlier years, she worked as a legal secretary and then as secretary for the UT Dental Association. In her later years, she enjoyed oil painting, jewelry, and hat making.

Carol was an angel, always happy and an influence for good. She made friends for life wherever she went, always patient and enthusiastic. She shared Christ-like love and always made people feel that they were "her favorite."

Mom, your influence and happy spirit were felt by all who knew you. Your smile, contagious laugh, and adorable personality was enjoyed by all of us and will never be forgotten. You have left a lasting impression on so many lives and are loved and adored! Your legacy will live on through your posterity and we will strive to follow your counsel and example. We look forward to the day we will be with you again!

She is survived by her children, Carole (David P.) Howells, Dan (Becky) Gray, Debbie (Ray) Bushnell, and Cindy White; twenty grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Merelyn and Jim Millward. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant son "Bobby"; her brothers, Elbert, Claude, and Ralph Thompson; and sister, Lois Colligan.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013 in the Foothill Stake Center, 1933 South 2100 East. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, as well as from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will follow in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

We'll "be loving you always!"
