LEBANON Roland N. Gray, 80, of Maple Street in Colonial Park , East Lebanon, formerly of North Berwick, died June 17, 2005, at York Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Wells, a son of Roy N. and Ruth (Hilton) Gray. He attended Berwick Academy in South Berwick.

He and his wife of 60 years, Mary (Allen) Gray, resided in North Berwick for 47 years before moving to Lebanon. He had been a logging contractor in town for most of his life. After retiring, he continued to plow and provide welding and mechanical services.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Everett and Clifford, two sons-in-law, Carl Ross and George Hannaford and one granddaughter, Mary.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Gray of Lebanon; one son, Paul Gray of South Paris; three daughters, Patricia Hodgdon and her husband Karl of Acton, Marlene Ross of Wells and Barbara Hannaford of North Berwick; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Gray; one brother, Leon Gray of South Berwick; one sister, Minnie Webber of Sanford; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral was held Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, with the Rev. Robert G. Cole Sr. officiating. Interment followed in the Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.
