DIES HERE AT AGE 90
John Fletcher Gray, Native North Carolinian, Had Been Mason for 69 Years
John Fletcher Gray, aged 90, died at his residence, 85 Ocean View avenue, yesterday afternoon at 2:55 o'clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie M. Gray; three daughters, Mrs. Zeta Powers, of Northwest; Mrs. Annie Fulford and Mrs. Senie Fulford, both of Norfolk: a son, T. B. Gray, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Gray was a native of Currituck County, N. C.., but had been a resident of Ocean View for the last 18 years. Mr. Gray was a member of Atlantic Lodge No. 238 A. F. & A. M. Moyock, N. C., becoming a member on his twenty-first birthday and was one of the oldest Masons in North Carolina or Virginia. He was a member of Jasmine Chapter No. 34, O. E. S., and the Moyock Methodist Church. Mr. Gray was a Civil War veteran, serving under Colonel Lindsay in the North Carolina Infantry Regiment and was well known through his native State and this city. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Northwest, Va.
