Edward E. Gray, Sr., 57, of Sailor Springs, Ill. passed away at 4:47 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Dillman Cemetery in Sailor Springs. Full military rites will be performed at the graveside. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Reverend Larry Schnautz will be officiating the service. Visitation will take place 1 hour before services at the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City.

Edward E. Gray, Sr. was born on November 9, 1948 to Thomas Alfred and Maxine D. (DeVaughn) Gray in Chilton County, Ala. On May 17, 1975 he married Linda Payne. He was a truck driver for Nix Trucking, a Decorated Vietnam Veteran, and a member of the Christian faith.
He is survived by Wife, Linda Gray of Sailor Springs; Son, Edward E. Gray, Jr. and wife Leslie of Chicago; Son, Steven W. Gray of Chicago; Daughter, Michelle Pflaum and husband Ronald of Sailor Springs; Daughter, Renee Lynn Bryant and husband Sgt. David Mark Bryant, Jr. of Germany; Daughter, Kellie Goossens and husband Sean of Sailor Springs; Brother, Watson A. Gray and family of Danville, Ill.; Sister, Rose Clark and family of Pekin, Ill.; Brother, Ronald W. Gray and family of Louisville; Sister, Mary Arbeiter and family of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Sister, Nancy D. Gray and family of Noble; 5 grandchildren, Steven Gray Jr., Shania Gray, Cole Patterson, Kaylee Bryant and Lane Goossens.
He will be missed by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth D. and Thomas M. Gray, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie and Ralph Payne.
