Inez Mae (Graves) Calton was the daughter of Homer Graves and Mildred Shockly.
She was a native Ozarkian of souther Missouri. She was of Scottish, Irish and Cherokee ancestery.
Inez Mae (Graves) Calton was the wife of Charles Calton and they lived most of their lives near the small country town of Morga in southern Laclede County, Missouri.
Inez and Charles were the parents of several children: Dianne, Teresa, Randie, Brenda, Annette, Charles Jr., Melissa, Matthew and Andrew. They also lost a child during childbirth.
Inez and Charles Calton as well as most of their children were all very musically gifted. Inez sang, played the guitar, while Charles played the fiddle and mandolin. Inez especially helped to train her children to sing those great family harmonies on their songs. They had a family band for many years and were recognized nationally as "The Calton Family." They toured all over the United States and owned and operated their own Music Theatre Show at Branson, Missouri for a few years. The Calton Family recorded several songs on L.P. albums and now available on CD.
Inez was a loving wife, loving other and grandmother. She was a wonderful seamstress and great at old southern style cooking. Her and Charles always opened their house to neighbors and friends.
Inez Mae (Graves) Calton was a devout Christian and a life member of the Catholic Church. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and rarely missed a church service.
Inez passed away with cancer after several years of battling it. She never lost her faith in The LORD and went to be with HIM in 2002. She is buried at the Mount Rose Cemetery, Laclede County, Lebanon, Missouri.
