JOPLIN, Mo. — Ozella L. Bard, age 89, departed this life Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010. She is now at rest awaiting the resurrection.

Ozella was born Oct. 26, 1920, in Joplin, Mo., the daughter of the late Fred and Bertie (McCullough) Graves. She was a lifetime area resident.

Ozella was united in marriage to James F. Bard in Girard, Kan., Nov. 22,1936.

She was converted during a revival at the Apostolic Faith Church inProsperity, Mo., in 1950. She, with husband James faithfully attended the original Apostolic Faith Church on East 4th Street in Joplin, until shortly before her passing. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and devoted herlife to providing a Christian home for James and her family. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and traveling the world with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of almost 74 years, James F. Bard, Joplin;one son, Jim Bard and wife, Kathy, Seneca, Mo.; three daughters, Janet Stemm and husband, Walter, Joyce Babst and husband, Bob, all of Joplin, and Carol Dewees and husband John, Seneca, Mo.; three brothers, James Graves, Galena, Kan., Galen Graves, Kansas City, Mo., and Lewis Graves, Seneca; three sisters, Mary Irick, Margaret Wilson and Margie Kelly, all of Joplin; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harold Graves, Edwin Graves and an infant Graves; two sisters, Eva Bell Puckett and Helen Outt. She will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, atMason-Woodward Mortuary and Chapel. Rev. Johnny R. Arnall and Pastor Savoy L. Grimmer will officiate. Entombment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers are Ozellašs grandsons; Jason Bard, Michael Bard, Matthew Stemm, Andrew Stemm, Robert Babst, and grandson-in-law Bruce Schroeder.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel.
