Oleta Grant Berg

Oleta Grant Berg was born May 15, 1917 at Teague, Texas to William Frederick Grant and Minerva Pickens Grant. She married Phillip Berg on December 24, 1936 at Oakwood, Texas.

She died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Texoma Healthcare Center in Sherman, Texas at the age of 93.

She was a long time resident of Whitewright, Texas. After attending Paris Junior College to get her diploma, she attended Nursing School at Wilson N. Jones
Hospital to become a LVN. Immediately after becoming an LVN she was hired by Dr. Paul Geers in Whitewright and worked for him for the next 40 years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by son, Leon Berg and wife Charlin of Portland, Oregon; son, Douglas Berg and wife Liz of Bonham; daughter, Kathy Fox and Jack of Gordonville; 5 grandchildren, Lori, Cory, Tracey, Mike and Shana; 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Laura and Laris Berg; grandson, Curtis Wayne Newman; and brother, W. F. Grant.

Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Dew Cemetery, Dew, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Eddie Ober.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Berg, Tracey Newman, Mike Berg, Jacob Newman,Charles Lee, and Jack Harris.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
