His aircraft took off from Thurleigh, England. They were assigned to bomb an industrial area at Lille, France. They were involved in a mid-air collision with a second bomber called "Four of a Kind" about three miles north of Lille. Both crashed at Marcq-en-Baroeul. There were 6 KIA and 4 POW.
