Ida Lillian Grant Brown -AMERICUS - Mrs. Ida Lillian Brown, age 78, of Americus, GA, died Friday, August 6, 2004, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus. A native of LaGrange, Mrs. Brown was born September 17, 1925, daughter of the late Neal and Florine Grant. She was former secretary to the Georgia Southwestern University President where she was a member of the Women's Business Club and earned Secretary of the month. She was a member of Eastern Star, the Presbyterian Church and also attended First Assembly of God. -Graveside funeral services will be held at 2P.M. Monday, August 9, 2004 at Macon Memorial Park, 4101 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia with Rev. Michael Beck officiating. -Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M., Sunday, August 8th at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, 142 Southland Road, Americus. At other times friends may call at the family residence, 504 Valley Drive, Americus. -Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1512-1 Gillionville Road, Albany Georgia, 31707. -Survivors include her husband, George E. Brown, Sr. of Americus; one daughter, Sandra Gale Yacobacci of Hillsboro; three sons, Larry Neal Pope of Macon, George E. Brown, Jr. and Robert Keith Brown both of Lizella; one brother, Byron W. Grant of St. Louis, MO; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. One grandson, Brent Brown and a daughter-in-law, Mary Pope preceded her in death.
