She was born Nov. 9, 1912, in Vandalia, Mo. She had lived in Elyria since 2001, coming from Oberlin where she had lived since 1948.
Mrs. Grant worked as an administrator in the Personnel Department at Oberlin College for 20 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oberlin and its Women's Club, Eastern Star Pansy Chapter of Oberlin, and Literary Social Club. She enjoyed sewing, travel and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Robert E. Grant of Land O Lakes, Fla.; daughter, Elaine Hermatet of North Olmsted; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Dale Grant; brothers Basil Grant, Kenneth Grant and Willis Grant; and parents Cella Owen Gore and Corrie Belle (nee Snediger) Gore.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cowling Funeral Home; 228 S. Main St., Oberlin. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Oberlin. Chaplain Beth McKee, United Methodist Village, and Dr. O. French Ball, First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin.
