Mrs. Effie G. Carr, 86, of 2665 Harrison, died this morining at St. Benedict's Hospital of natural causes. Mrs. Carr was born Dec. 10, 1882, in Manhattan, Kan., a daughter of John and Etta Thomas Graham. She married to Fred Carr Sr., on Feb. 7, 1906, in Maple Hill, Kan. She had resided in Ogden the past 52 years, moving here from Kansas. She was an active member of the First Presbytarian Church of Ogden. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was past matron of Miriam Chapter. She had served as president of the Past Matrons Council and served in the Grand Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. She was a member and past president of the Spanish American War Auxillary and the woman's Patriotic Council. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Fred Carr Jr., Ogden; James E. Carr, Glendale, Calif.; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Blanche Nutter, Clarksville, Ark. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Donald R. Steiner officiating. Friends may call at Linquist and Sons Mortuary Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Washington Heights Memorial Park.
